With the aim of improving the quality of teaching and the professional capabilities of teachers, a capacity building seminar was held for 55 school teachers in Pusht Koh District, Herat Province. This training program was held by the Provincial Education Department in cooperation with the Atefi Charity Foundation at the Pusht Koh Central High School.

At the opening of this seminar, Qari Yousuf, the Head of Education of Pusht Koh District, called holding such seminars valuable for improving the capacity of teachers and expressed his appreciation for the kind attention of the Education Department and the Atefi Charity Foundation to hold such seminars in remote districts.

In this seminar, teachers from primary, secondary and high schools from different villages and areas of the district were present. The topics presented included:

  • New teaching methods
  • Educational psychology of students
  • Use of teaching aids
  • Classroom management and effective assessment of students
  • And the principles of education and upbringing within the framework of the national curriculum.

Yasir Ahmad Shabanpour, a representative of the Atefi Charity Foundation, said at the opening of this program:

Teachers are the backbone of the education system and investing in their high capacity is the future of our country.

This seminar was presented by two teachers from the Posht-e-Kuh district.

On the other hand, a number of participating teachers, expressing satisfaction with the content of the seminar, called for the continuation of such programs in the future.

Nasir Ahmad Nusrat, one of the teachers participating in this seminar, said: We need to constantly familiarize ourselves with new educational methods so that we can better educate the future generation.

At the end of the program, certificates of participation were distributed to all participants and officials of the Atefi Charity Foundation reminded that similar programs are also underway in other districts.
