Scientific, educational and cultural workshops were held in Herat city with the participation of about 400 students of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Ghori High School. These seminars were launched by the Herat Education Department in cooperation with the Atefi Foundation, with the aim of raising the level of awareness of students regarding the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), undesirable customs and traditions in society, the responsibility of youth in Islamic society and confronting the challenges of life.

On the first day of the seminar, Maulvi Rahmatullah Jaber, the head of Herat Education Department, in his speech, emphasized the importance of following the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and highlighted the role of youth in reforming the Islamic society. He continued by appreciating the ongoing cooperation of the Atefi Foundation with the Herat Education Department and emphasizing the need to abandon undesirable customs and traditions in society.

Abdul Zaher Ershad, Deputy Director of the Atefi Foundation, while listing some of the activities of the foundation in the field of capacity building of teachers, government employees and school students, emphasized the continuation of such programs for the intellectual and cultural empowerment of the young generation and asked the students to take advantage of these opportunities and strive towards the growth of their personality and responsibility.

It is worth mentioning that on the first day of these seminars, 12th grade students of Ghiyasuddin Ghori and Esteghlal Maarif Shahr high schools benefited from the educational materials of this program.

These seminars are conducted by trainers from the Herat Education Department and other students of Herat City Maarif Boys’ High Schools are also expected to benefit from these programs.
