Child labor is prohibited by the National and International Regulation sights, but children can be seen in hard works like clay ovens, bakeries, car washes, dyeing shoes and collecting plastic from garbage and other hard works through the country. Based on Ministry of Labor and Social Affair data, two million children in Afghanistan are working and nearly one and half million are doing hard works in which is an enormous social dilemma.

By a prospective, finding of research on hard work of children by the Independent Human Right Commission in Afghanistan shows children are under assault harassment in their work place, while they have to work long hours and sometimes it makes them disable as a result of violation. These children of deprived of a childhood most of them cannot attend school. With hesitation, most of them are trapped by terrorist groups or handed over groups for sexual slavery, forced labor or sexual abuse among smugglers or others.

Through its Children project, Atefi Foundation is focused on education and capacity building for unattended and vulnerable children during this era when, all their behaviors, believes, values, thoughts, threats and competencies would be shaped in their mind to take them to the edge of self-sufficiency and prosperity of their talents and keep human being dignity by keeping support of this prose. Unfortunately, recognized and selected children under this project are mostly those who lost their parents and live with their relatives and have to do hard work to cope with their life necessity.

These children are recognized through Atefi Foundation survey and attracted, first of all their hygienic cares is set and have health check-ups. Then they are sent to expert and experienced instructors for preparation course and pave their school entrance at the end of this course. It should be noted that children over 14 are attended to six months Skill and Profession Training courses alongside their school practices in which make them independent and self-dependent for the society.
